  1. Your installation manual mentions checking the resistance of the converter clutch solenoid for the AODE, is this check necessary for the E4OD?

It is not necessary to test the converter clutch solenoid on an E4OD. There is only one type of converter solenoid for the E4OD.

  2. How do I tell which color wires on the TCS stub harness correspond to the pin numbers referenced in you TCS installation manual?

There is a seperate sheet inserted in the front of the TCS installation manual that gives the wire colors and corresponding pin number for the TCS connector. If you do not have this sheet for some reason you can print the complete stub color code from our TCS download page.

  3. What do I do with your TCS pin 3 (PIP) signal if I am installing the TCS on a non-EEC IV system?

While pin 3 does provide a tach signal into the TCS the TCS does not use it for any decisions. If you do not have a PIP output you should leave pin 3 disconnected. Connecting this wire to a coil negative or some other source for a tach signal may damage the Transmission Control System.

You are not losing any functionality by not having this wire connected. The only reason it was included on the TCS is because we may issue a datalogging version of the TCS software, and the PIP signal would allow RPM data to be collected. When a datalogging version of the TCS software is available we will offer a signal conditoner that will allow the connection of the PIP wire to coil negative. For now just tape the end of this wire and leave it disconnected.
