The VSS is located in the extension housing of the transmission and is retained by one bolt. Most 1992 and later trucks do not have a VSS. If your truck does, remove the VSS to count the teeth on the plastic driven gear. The drive gear is machined into the transmission output shaft. Counting the drive gear teeth with the transmission in the car is not practical. If your speedometer is accurate, we can calculate the drive gear teeth if you supply us with all of the other information above.
